How do I factory reset and/or reinstall (re-install) my media player?

If your media player is acting weird, not working, or has a bunch of extra stuff on it... you may wish to do a factory reset.

Signera may also instruct you to complete a factory reset if they are unable to resolve certain technical issues. This is the quickest way to get your computer back to working order in all computer/media player -based issues. If a factory reset does not resolve your issue, your media player most likely will need to be RMA'ed to the manufacturer.

Steps to Factory Reset (on Windows 10):

2) On Page 4, choose "Reboot for System Recovery" instead of "Create Factory Recovery Media"
3) Follow the on-screen instructions for System Recovery

Steps to Factory Reset (on Windows 7 or XP):

1) Hook up a keyboard/mouse to the media player

2) Shut down the computer until its completely off (wait 10 seconds after its powered down)

3) Turn the computer back on

4a) For Windows 7 and Vista, hit the F8 key on your keyboard multiple times while the computer is starting.

4b) For Windows XP, hit the F10 key on your keyboard multiple times while the computer is starting.

5) If Windows eventually loads, this means you did not hit the correct key, or hit it quick enough. Please restart the process above again.

6) You should eventually see "Nexlink Recovery Center" or "Advanced Boot Options"

7) Select the "Repair Your Computer" option

8) Click "Next" on the "Welcome to NexLink system Recovery" page

9) Select the option called "Full factory recovery" (Make sure the option you selects says JUST "Full factory recovery" and not "with backup" or "with your backed up files" etc.) and hit "Next"

10) Select "Complete (Recommended)" then hit "Next"

11) Select "Yes" on "Are you sure you want to continue?" then hit "Next"

12) The system will now re-install itself to factory settings (with Signera software installed). This process can take from 10 to 40 minutes to complete.

13) After the computer is done, it'll automatically restart itself.

14) Setup Internet Connection
14a) If you are using wired internet, it should automatically connect, download your sign, and begin to play (No need to re-activate the player if its already activated).

14b) If you are using wireless internet, you'll need to re-add your Wireless network settings. After you add these settings (make sure to select "Automatically reconnect"), shut down your player. Wait 10 seconds, and then turn the player back on. It should start up and connect to the network and download your sign, and begin to play (No need to re-activate the player if its already activated).

15) Once the internet is re-established, let the computer sit a few minutes. The computer will automatically reach out to Signera and update its media player version to the latest version on Signera's servers. You may see a black screen with white text pop up and go away. You may also see other information come and go on the screen.

16) If you don't see anything happen after about 10 minutes (Activation Key show, or your sign show, or any other boxes come and go), check the media player's internet connection.
16a) Open Internet Explorer/Edge, Chrome, or Firefox, and go to www.signera.net

16b) If it works, reboot the computer one last time.
