If you are using an Adaptive Module with a single "Nothing Scheduled" slide and other slide(s), the slideshow can sometimes get stuck.
If there is a split second before the "Nothing Scheduled" slide activates and nothing is actually scheduled to play on the module, it can sometimes get stuck.
The recommended fix for this is to:
1) Use 2 "Nothing Scheduled" slides.
2) Use "Advanced Scheduling" for your slides and avoid using "Nothing Scheduled"
3) Below is an example of 2 fixes given a customer's situation.
A customer had an Adaptive Module with 2 slides in it.
Slide 1 had "Nothing Scheduled" scheduling.
Slide 2 had "11:00am to 11:00pm recurring daily" scheduling.
Sometimes "Slide 1" wasn't triggering before "Slide 2" was turned off by scheduling, causing the slideshow to get stuck.
There are 2 possible fixes for this scenario:
Fix 1:
Set whole slideshow's "Default Timing" to 300 seconds (5 min). Previously the "Default Timing" was 13 sec.
Add a Transparent Slide that mirrors the "Slide 1" timing. (But it only stays up for 5 sec every 5 min via "Slide Timing Override")
Add a Transparent Slide that mirrors the "Slide 2" timing. (But it only stays up for 5 sec every 5 min via "Slide Timing Override")
If this doesn't work, or isn't desired, I'd recommend doing Fix 2 below.
Fix 2:
Change "Slide 1" scheduling from "Nothing Scheduled" to recurring everyday from 12:00am to 10:59am and also recurring everyday from 11:01pm to 11:59pm
Then have one Transparent Slide set as "Nothing Scheduled".
Lastly, reset "Default Timing" for module back to "13" seconds.
This achieves exactly what the client was attempting in the above example, but sets scheduling for the "Slide 1" slide rather than using "Nothing Scheduled".
