Power Point, Word, PDF, and Publisher files appear to upload differently or look differently on the sign?

It's hard to know of any reason that you would see a vast difference in Publisher vs Power Point (and other formats) for uploading files to an Adaptive Module.

Possibly the two files have totally different layouts and designs. They have different font sizes and are in different orientations. This is why a PowerPoint flyer could be harder to read, it was not designed as well for the purpose of fitting into the module as Flyer modules are sized to replicate a 8.5x11 standard paper size which would be considered Portrait (Tall) while the Power Point is in Landscape (Wide). This is why you might see the background color of the module above and below the uploaded file. It is unable to fill the entire space of the module because the shapes do not match. Typically Publisher files are formatted at a Portrait (Tall) format to fit Flyer modules.

One suggestion would be to change the orientation to Portrait when using PowerPoint to match closer to the module which you want to upload it into. The following is an article on editing page layout in Power Point:https://support.office.com/en-us/article/change-the-size-of-your-slides-040a811c-be43-40b9-8d04-0de5ed79987e#OfficeVersion=Office_2010

At least change the format to Portrait (for a Flyer module) but the best solution would be to set its size to the exact dimension of the module which are vary from module to module. This will ensure that the dimension or "shape" of material made in Power Point (or other file format) will match the module.

Another best practice is to consider the size of the fonts used when making content for your sign. Fonts that prove easy to read at a desk could be much harder to see when viewing on a sign from a distance so its useful to make the font size larger than you normally would.
