You are connected to your Wireless network but you aren't seeing your sign, its not updating, or (if its a new media player) you aren't seeing the activation code. All of these issues typically indicate a weak wireless signal (too weak to properly handshake back and forth with your Wireless Access Point)
A Wireless signal strength of "1 bar" (not as accurate as a signal's actual DB) can sometimes be too low to route traffic properly.
Our recommendations given this scenario are as follows:
1) Move the Wireless Access Point so the media player can receive a consistent wireless signal
2) Purchase higher gain antennas and possibly uni-directional wireless antennas pointed at the Wireless Access Point
3) Move the media player (even temporarily) to see if signal strength can be improved.
4) Run ethernet wiring or use a USB or Ethernet to Wireless adapter so a wireless adapter can be positioned optimally.
Note: A signal bar on the Wireless indicator only shows the strength relative to receiving the "beacon" or SSID from the Wireless Access Point. It does NOT indicate if packets being sent by the media player are actually being received by the Wireless Access Point. Your IT should be able to use Wireshark or another application to ensure packets are being sent and received correctly. Routine packet loss will make the sign software not work correctly.
When positioning your antennas, please make sure that you position them away from metal or concrete walls if possible.
Moving the media player even a couple feet can sometimes resolve signal strength issues.
