If you recently made a change to your template/frame or module settings and start seeing this error this could be due to too much movement on your sign.
If you haven't made a change to your template/frame or module settings in months, we recommend reading this article: We are seeing an error that says: "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash to run slowly." on our sign.
Example of the error message:

Signera provides a number of popular layouts called Templates (or Frames) that we supply our customers at no additional charge. Customer's that want a truly specific layout can also opt for our "ProDesign" where graphic artists work to design a custom layout for the customer.
In both above solutions, Signera tests the template/frame under a myriad number of conditions with different settings and options to ensure the template/frame will play under most conditions without problems.
Customers are always free to modify a Signera Template or even create their own unique template from scratch. However one added risk in doing so is the customer may unknowingly introduce a performance issue that leads to an error on the screen stating: "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash to run slowly.".
A number of different settings and options can lead to unbalanced performance on a template/frame. We will go over just some of these below. Otherwise we encourage our customer's to use a Signera created and tested template so you get the most stable experience from Signera. If you cannot find a template that works for you, reach out to us and we may be able to develop a new one.
Some issues that can cause this error on unbalanced performance on a template/frame:
1) Multiple Scrolling Text Modules
It may not seem like it, but one of the most CPU and Graphic intensive components to a digital sign is the "Scrolling Text" or "Marquee".
If you add more than one to a template, and also have a lot of other movement on the screen. You may notice the error described on this page show up.
Also making a Scrolling Text module a specific "Width" and "Height" is also important for performance. A larger "Height" option is recommended in some situations as it'll cause less text to display on the Scrolling Text bar at any given time, so less text will need to be moved thereby using less CPU/Graphics resources. Although again this is a balance because readability of the viewer/customer should also be taken into account.
Settings like "Scrolling Speed" also effect performance. For instance setting "Scrolling Speed" to "Fast" will use up more CPU/Graphics resources on the media player because it's causing more movement or change by moving each letter quicker across the screen. The better setting to use is "Normal".
Also the setting "Transition Options" can also effect performance. For instance setting "Transition Options" to "Roll-Up w/Scrolling" uses more CPU/Graphics resources on the media player because its causing more movement or change when the text "rolls up". The better setting to use is "Continuous Scrolling".
While all media players from Signera can accept 2 or more Scrolling Text modules (see:
http://www.signera.net/tech-info/mediastream-players/). For an SG player, this is under ideal conditions (2 Scrolling Text Modules, and say, 1-2 Adaptive Modules without much movement). An XG player can obviously do more as it has its own Graphics Card and a better CPU with more RAM.
2) Overheating or media player getting hot enough that its performance degrades In addition to performance issues with a Template/Frame the media player itself may also be overheating, causing the CPU performance to degrade a bit.
This is typical computer operation. A computer (or media player in this instance) can perform tasks when it's not too hot.
The hotter it gets the slower (or less) it'll be able to perform, eventually if it gets too hot it'll turn off to protect itself.
Make sure the media player's vent holes are cleaned out, it has adequate air flow, and a fan (if it's a fan-less player in a small space).
See Option 1 on this article for more information:
We are seeing an error that says: "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash to run slowly." on our sign. 3) An excessive number of Adaptive Modules (Custom Slideshows) that all fade/transition a lot and/or play a lot of videos 4) Any combination of the above Building a digital signage template is an art and takes technical skill.
There is no secret formula to the exact number of modules and the exact temperature of a media player that'll cause a template to show this error or not show an error.
All we can do is test different settings and be mindful of graphic or CPU intensive tasks on a media player.
The most CPU or graphic intensive tasks are listed above with options one, two and three.
Although your specific template could be a combination of any or all of the above. The best thing to do is to reach out to Signera Support at 301-714-0110 x1 or support@signera.net so we may analyze your specific template and settings and let you know about possible problem areas or settings.
We can also recommend settings and change settings so your template is more optimized.
We can also test your template on our media players on our Tech Bench to make sure the template performance issue isn't environmental related (too much heat or moisture or too little air-flow).
If you continue to have the issue, please reach out to Signera Support at 301-714-0110 x1 or support@signera.net
