My sign or TV or monitor is portrait or vertical format however my sign is showing on its side (or sideways) all of a sudden!

This happens because your sign is set to Portrait format, however you have lost an internet connection.

Once your internet connection is regained, the sign should flip to the correct orientation.

Please see this article about internet connections: My Internet Connection Appears to be Down, How do I fix?

If your internet connection comes back up (your media player / sign is showing a "Green" traffic light) and your sign is still sideways, we recommend restarting your media player. You can do this from the Signera website.

To restart your media player, do the following:
1) Login to Signera (as an Admin User)
2) Navigate to "Manage Players" (v2) or "Manage Signs" (v1) or "Player Network" (v2) or "Media Players" (v1)
3) Click "Edit" next to the sign you wish to restart
4) Scroll down and click the "RESTART MEDIA PLAYER" button
5) Click "OK" to confirm
Thats it!

It Keeps Happening?
If you keep having flipped template/frame issues on your TV and you're sure its not an internet connection issue, then you are most likely manually turning your TV off at night. We do not recommend doing this!

The media players restart every night to get updates. When the media player comes back online, it cannot communicate with the TV to know what orientation it's in (if the TV is off). When the TV is finally turned on later by staff, the media player has already given up trying to communicate with the TV. To combat this issue, we always recommend keeping your TVs on ALL THE TIME. If this is an issue, you could implement RS232 on the TV (with a commercial TV) or setup a "black" screen saver template/frame schedule for when you want your TV to be "dark".
