Help! I made a change to my Signera MediaPlayer Windows/Linux configuration and the software isn't working anymore!

Signera offers media players in Linux, Windows 7, formerly Windows XP, and Windows 10.

Sometimes Companies or IT Departments prefer to change settings on the media player to better adapt the media player to their specific network infrastructure or needs. This may include changing the password of the media player's user account, changing security settings, adding to a Windows domain, etc.

Our media players can certainly be configured to best meet your needs. However given the complexity of different networks, and the myriad of Windows and Linux settings, we cannot provide technical support outside of the base image we provide.

So for instance, if you wish to change Security Settings on your media player, but this causes the Signera software to not load, we cannot provide support to make the specific Security Settings you changed work with our software. This task would be left up to your IT department or IT contractor. This isn't to say we won't assist your IT department or IT contractor if they ask us any questions about the media player and its setup. We just simply can't provide support outside of the specific configuration we've provided as we are not a Microsoft Certified Technical Support company, nor are we setup to provide basic computer support.

Another example would be changing the media player's default user account's password. This password is typically setup as 'signera' (all lower case). You can certainly change this password. However if you change the password and are not sure how to change Window's configuration to allow auto-login, we cannot provide support on this as this would be a support request on Windows, and not the Signera software. Our technicians are not trained on Microsoft products, nor do they hold any Microsoft certifications.

In some cases we can provide guides on basic routine tasks (like changing the Date and/or Time on a media player, the time zone on a media player, or adding a Wireless network to a media player). However we are not setup to provide basic computer support beyond these guides we provide in the Knowledge-base, nor are our techs trained in Microsoft Windows or Linux support. They are experts when it comes to the Signera Software-as-a-Service interface and basic computer troubleshooting (like an internet connection isn't established on the media player).

If you do make changes to your Media Player and the Signera software is no longer behaving like it should as a result of these changes, we recommend contacting an IT company to help you setup your Windows/Linux configuration to match your specific needs.

If you made changes to your Media Player and the Signera software is no longer behaving like it should as a result of these changes, and you DO NOT wish to keep the changes, we recommend doing a re-install of the whole system. A guide on how to perform these steps can be found here: How do I factory reset and/or reinstall (re-install) my media player?

While Signera does not expressly prohibit making any changes to your media player or configuration, we cannot offer support on any changes that may be made.
