We've received a pop up that says "Security Alert" about a "security certificate" on our media player

You see a dialog pop-up on your media player that says "Security Alert"

The message is similar to the following:

The identity of this web site or the integrity of this connection cannot be verified.

? The security certificate is from a trusted certifying authority.

? The security certificate has expired or is not yet valid.

? The security certificate has a valid name matching the name of the page you are trying to view.

Do you want to proceed?

You will then see a "Yes", "No", and "View Certificate" button.

The question marks above (?) will show: a green checkmark, a yellow caution symbol, or sometimes a red "X".

This dialog looks like the following
(although it could look slightly different on different versions of Windows)

Please click "Yes" to proceed.

However this message is appearing because, most likely, your media player has reverted its timezone or date/time to a different setting. This could have happened due to an unexpected power failure, or other issue.

To resolve the issue, you'll need to re-set your date/time locally on the media player. You may also need to re-set your timezone on the media player. To complete these steps, you'll need a keyboard/mouse and TV/monitor plugged into the media player. You'll also need to be in front of the media player.

If you're unsure what the media player looks like, view this article:
What does my Signera Media Player look like?

Once you've located the media player, have a keyboard/mouse and TV/monitor plugged in, please read item #1 in the following article and follow the steps in item #2:
Date/Time is off on my media player, or I'm getting weird authentication errors, or I'm not able to see Signera's web site from the media player?

Once complete, please restart your media player.

Content may not show right on your media player and updates may not download to the media player until you complete the above steps.
